The Rats of Tobruk exhibition, open until 1st December, 2011, showcases the stories behind the men and women who became Australian legends. The Germans sneered at them for living like rats, but the Aussies defending the Libyan port of Tobruk were true heroes. With typical Aussie humour, the defenders of Tobruk took the name to heart and halted the German advance across North Africa. They endured a hell of heat, dust, blood and battle.
